What do you call the absence of appetite and hunger, but you eat simply because you're supposed to? I eat one or maximum two sandwiches a day, I don't drink as much as I used to or supposed to. I don't feel hunger or thirst. Yet I keep on gaining weight instead of losing any (btw, I don't starve myself on purpose to lose weight, I'm very comfortable about my size since I could care less about society 'beauty' standards) I just find it weird, and I don't know where to start to do some research.
I have no idea what that’s technically called, but it sounds like you may need to re-evaluate your relationship with food. Perhaps meet with a doctor or nutritionist who can help you decide on a meal plan that gets you all the nutrients you need? Eating a sandwich or two a day doesn’t sound very balanced and you may be depriving your body of things it needs. I’m not sure what exactly you’re eating, so I can’t explain why it would cause you to gain weight, but a medical professional will be better suited to tell you about these things. Good luck!

If you don’t get enough nutrients your body goes into starvation mode and whatever you put into it it immediately stores away because it doesn’t know when it will get food again. That would explain the weight gain.

if you go too long without meeting your needs, your body will “turn off” its hunger/thirst mechanics. this is unhealthy! PLEASE, at the very least, take vitamins and drink at least 32oz of liquid a day!
